iLovePDF free — sign a PDF online, no print, no subscription
iLovePDF-style PDF signing, straight in the browser: drop the file, place the signature, download the signed PDF. Under a minute, and the document never leaves your device.

Mostly — and it depends on the tool. iLovePDF's basic plan is genuinely free, with limits: fewer tools, per-tool file-size caps and no desktop or mobile apps. Sign PDF is one of the free tools, up to 50 MB a file.
Premium is the paid side: it lifts the caps on the other tools and adds the desktop and mobile apps — Sign PDF itself stays at 50 MB. So the honest answer is free for occasional PDF work, paid when you do it every day.
If your job today is "sign this PDF and send it back", you do not need a plan, a card or an account at all. The free signing page does exactly that and nothing else — and unlike iLovePDF itself, it never uploads the file.
Sign a PDF in five steps ✍️
The whole thing runs in the tab. No app store, no plugin, no printing.
Open the page on your device 💻📱
Laptop, tablet or phone — any current browser is fine.
Drop the PDF in 📄
Drag it onto the box or browse for it. Scans are fine; up to 10 MB and the first 20 pages.
Click where the signature belongs 🖱️
The box appears exactly where you tap, so the line lands where the contract expects it.
Type your name ✒️
The preview shows the signature as it will print, so you can nudge or clear it until it looks right.
Apply and download ✅
The signature is written into the PDF and the signed copy saves instantly — ready to send back.
What iLovePDF costs once free runs out 💳
Indicative list prices, billed annually per user where noted. Check iLovePDF for your own region — the free plan goes a long way, but the limits are the product.
| Plan | Around | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Free (Basic) | $0 | Essential tools, per-tool size caps, web only |
| Premium | $9 / mo $5 / mo billed yearly | All tools, 1–25 users, unlimited processing |
| Business | Quote | 25+ users, SSO, volume pricing, support |
For one signature, even the cheap yearly plan is overkill. For daily PDF work across a team, Premium or Business earns its money.
Need the account itself? iLovePDF login lives at ilovepdf.com → Login. Nothing on the free signing page asks for those credentials.
Why nothing gets uploaded 🔒
Most free PDF tools — iLovePDF included — upload your file to a server before you can touch it. That is fine for a recipe, less fine for a tenancy agreement or an offer letter.
The signing page reads the PDF in the browser, draws the signature locally and builds the finished file on your own device. There is no watermark, no page cap to unlock, and no account wall before the file opens.
Questions people actually ask 🙋
Is a typed signature legally valid?
For ordinary commercial and personal paperwork, yes, when both sides intend to sign. Wills, deeds and some regulated contracts still need witnesses or a qualified electronic signature — read the wording of your document.
Do I need an iLovePDF account?
No. Signing a PDF does not need one, and the free page does not either. An account only matters when you want to send, track and store documents.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes, in Safari or Chrome. Save the finished PDF with the share sheet on iOS, or from Downloads on Android.
Does it add a watermark or a logo?
No. The only change to the file is the signature you placed.
Why will my PDF not open?
It is usually over 10 MB, password protected, or damaged. Remove the password in your reader first, or retry with a smaller file.
